Optimal design of solar air collector with latent heat thermal energy storage
Zálešák, Martin ; Mauder, Tomáš (referee) ; Klimeš, Lubomír (advisor)
The thesis deals with the creation for a numerical model of a solar collector with a phase change material as a heat storage medium. The model was implemented in Python. Using the created model, design optimization of several problems was carried out with the use of selected methods of heuristic optimization. The results of the behaviour of the created model and of design optimization were then analysed and evaluated.
Optimization of Production Processes
Halas, David ; Dvořák, Jiří (referee) ; Popela, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with modelling diffenrent types of production lines. Modeling is done by the mathematical programming and simulation methods. Optimization related computations are mostly implemented in program GAMS. Simulation is realized by using program Matlab/SimEvents. The results are presented by the Gantt diagrams.
Optimization of Slab Concasting Via Numerical Model of Temperature Field
Mauder, Tomáš ; Čarnogurská, Mária (referee) ; Pyszko, René (referee) ; Raudenský, Miroslav (referee) ; Kavička, František (advisor)
The thesis deals with optimization of the continuous slab casting process. The thesis summarizes the basic analytical and empirical findings concerning to the solidification process, the numerical modeling and the selected optimization techniques. Physical conditions and factors that affect the quality of steel including their relationships are also described. The basis of the solution strategy is the original numerical model of the temperature field in its off-line version. The numerical model was verified by the real historical data. The optimization part is based on the fuzzy logic implemented above the numerical model. The optimization algorithm is used for the optimal control of the casting process. The universal usage of the optimization model is demonstrated on several cases, e.g. the finding of optimal casting parameters that ensure the high quality of products, the optimal reactions on breakdown situations, the determination of an optimal relationship between casting parameters, etc. Based on optimization results, the suitable caster modification to increase the surface temperature at the unbending point was proposed. The whole concept of the numerical and optimization model is general and it can be applied to arbitrary slab or billet continuous casting.
VIRTUAL FACTORY USING MATHEMATICAL PROGRAMMING METHODS
Svoboda, Jan ; Sklenář, Jaroslav (referee) ; Mauder, Tomáš (advisor)
This work is focused on solving problems in Industry 4.0. Main part of this work describes development of a discreet simulation model based on queuing theory. This model will be used for a heuristic optimization of a production line. Model will be validated with data from real production line. Improvement of effectivity using discrete model and heuristic optimization will be shown on virtual production line.
Optimum control of heating and cooling of a multi-source housing unit with heuristic optimization
Sekula, Jakub ; Klimeš, Lubomír (referee) ; Mauder, Tomáš (advisor)
Aim of this work is to optimize the process of heating and cooling of living space with application of many heat sources in order to dicrease financial costs by heuristic optimization. Heat losses, which are needed to be covered, are counted using 1D heat transfer through plane wall model. Values of external tempreture, speed of wind and another external effects came from weather station in Brno.
Reliability-based structural optimization
Slowik, Ondřej ; Červenka,, Jan (referee) ; Lepš, Matěj (referee) ; Novák, Drahomír (advisor)
Presented PhD thesis deals with reliability-based optimization of structures and problems related to automatization of various algorithms of solution for various reliability-based optimization task definitions. The text presents a general definition of the reliability-based optimization problem, followed by a description of state of the art within the broad field of reliability-based optimization as well as the current state of the art of selected methodology utilized or developed by the author during his work in order to meet objectives of his dissertation. The theoretical part of the thesis is supplemented by a description of developed software tools and by examples of described methodology applications during a solution of practical problems of nonlinear numerical models reliability-based optimization and problems of inverse analysis.
